School of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS) Transition Program

SASS conducts a Transition Program for its new first year students every semester. The program is designed enabled to bring new students up to speed on the differences between school and college on the one hand, and the university experience on the other. The program is conducted by all the SASS staff over a few hours. During this time students are made to understand the extra demands made on them in university, how to avoid common mistakes, and how to look at and approach the next few years of their life and to get the most out of it. The success of this program has seen it emulated by other schools and students consistently affirm both that it was time very well spent.
