What is Arts summer semester? Summer semesters provide the opportunity to earn credit points outside of the standard semester and run sometime between November and February. Subjects delivered in these semesters operate slightly differently than those offered in semesters 1 or 2. For one thing, most summer units are delivered intensively. This means that the teaching period for these units is usually much shorter than those in a standard semester. However, class hours may be considerably longer. For example, instead of attending 3 hours of class per week for 12 weeks, you might have to attend all-day classes (with breaks) for a week. Again, this varies between units. Another difference is that there are no universal dates for summer units. Each unit has its own set of dates so the enrolment, teaching and census dates vary widely between units. Because of these differences, it is important that you find out everything that you can about the unit before you enroll.
When? Arts summer dates Summer subjects run between November and February. Keep in mind that these are intensive subjects. Most do not run for the entire semester. Each subject has its own enrolment, teaching and census date. We also recommend that you discuss the expected attendance requirements with the School offering the unit when you are seeking approval to enroll.
