SASS Research Degrees Induction Sessions

These sessions are intended to introduce new research degree students to SASS staff, other research degree students and the research degree programmes itself. It provides practical information and tips on how to progress with the MA and PhD candidatures. This aims to reduce the isolation that can be part of the experience of research degree students undertaking research degrees.

SASS ‘Tricks of the Trade’ seminars

The Tricks of the Trade seminar series is designed for new research degree candidates and covers a variety of topics relevant to research. These include the mechanics of candidature, strategies for tackling research, accessing resources and ethical considerations.

Facilities

Postgraduate Centre

The Postgraduate Centre, located at School of Arts & Social Sciences in Building 2, Level 6 is equipped with a range of services for research degree students. This centre offers the following facilities :
- 24-hour, seven-day-per-week access;
- Workstations (inclusive of desk, chair, 2 lockable hanging cabinets and lockable pedestal);
- Personal computer (desktop);
- Shared network printer, scanner and photocopier;
- Shared well-equipped pantry;
- Shared telephone (for internal calls only).
