Caryn LIM- The most outstanding undergraduate academic performance in the Bachelor of Arts (Global) course in the period September 2010 to February 2011

CHIAM May Yen- The most outstanding undergraduate academic performance in the Bachelor of Arts course in the period September 2010 to February 2011

Both are now undertaking the BA Honours programme.

Iromi Maheshini DHARMAWARDHANE - The most outstanding undergraduate academic performance in the Bachelor of Arts course at Sunway campus in the period September 2008 to August 2009

Siti Nur Farhanah S. HUSSIN BAGHARIB - The most outstanding undergraduate academic performance in the Bachelor of Communication course at Sunway campus in the period September 2008 to August 2009

Congratulations are due to three of SASS's most outstanding students for winning SASS's Best Student Awards.

Anna Filippova – most outstanding undergraduate academic performance in the Honours degree of Bachelor of Arts in the year 2007/2008. Anna was also awarded the Best Student Award in 2007 for the most outstanding undergraduate academic performance in the Bachelor of Arts. Anna enrolled in a Bachelor of Communications in March 2004 but transferred to a Bachelor of Arts in July 2006 with double major in Communications and Writing. After she completed her BA degree, she furthered her studies with an Honours degree in the Bachelor of Arts in February 2007.

Lim Jen Ai Maxine – Best Student Award in 2008 for the most outstanding undergraduate academic performance in the Bachelor of Arts. Maxine enrolled in a Bachelor of Communications in July 2005 and transferred to a Bachelor of Arts in July 2006 with double major in Communication and International Studies. Ng Fei Fen Grace - Best Student Award in 2008 for the most outstanding undergraduate academic performance in the Bachelor of Communications. Grace enrolled in a Bachelor of Communications in February 2006 and took part in intercampus exchange to Australian campus in year 2007.   Anna, Grace, Maxine & Prof. Chin

Congratulations to our honours student, Melody Song, for winning The Star's Youth2 Merdeka Essay Competition. See her winning essay here

Congratulations to Melissa Wong (right) for winning two prizes in the Research Matters Week poster competition. Ms Wong's poster was one of over forty by research students from all of Monash's schools. These posters described the nature of the students' research projects at the Honours, Masters, and PhD levels. Well done again to Melissa Wong who published Of Hindi Films and Malaysia Boleh in Off The Edge (Aug 2008, p18). Respondents to her piece include the world-renowned sociologist, Micheal Billig. Marina Tan had published in the leading Malaysian arts and culture magazine her review (left) of the book Shape of a Pocket by Jacqueline Surin . here & here>.

	Honours student Dahlia Maryam Martin (right) is the author of two articles in an anthology of writings by the alumni of the All Women's Action Society (AWAM) Writers for Women's Rights Program. Her articles, including, 'Reflections of an Eager Feminist', are published in the book Young Women Speak Out (left). She also participated in several book readings in bookstores in the Klang Valley to promote the book and awareness about women's rights.
